Spine align insoles1/17/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() There are numerous styles, configurations and sizes to consider when you are in need of back support bracing. Making the wrong choice could actually make your back and spine worse, or wearing the brace incorrectly or for long periods of time could potentially result in further weakness. But it is also very important to seek out the advice of your doctor before choosing a back brace to help ameliorate pain, or to help provide additional spinal support while working or engaging in other activities. In many situations, your healthcare provider will recommend the type of back brace that is right for you, especially in situations of surgery and spinal deformity. While a two-piece front and back format is typically used post-op because of its ease of application, a single-piece design with a front or back opening is more appropriate for scoliosis treatment. Rigid braces such as a TLSO are most often custom-fabricated, but can also be modified as required. Most soft back braces and corsets are pre-fabricated, but can be modified to each patient’s particular requirements.Ĭommonly used to control motion in all spinal structures and planes, rigid back braces offer the most support to the affected areas of the back. Rigid inserts and stays may be added to further restrict motion, or to act as a postural guide. Most often prescribed for low back pain relief that is associated with trauma, postural deformities or degenerative disc disorders, soft back braces and corsets are specifically utilized to reduce the weight on spinal structures through the use of abdominal compression. ![]() These spinal orthoses terms include cervicothoracic (CTO), cervical (CO), cervicothoracolumbosacral (CTLSO), thoracolumbosacral (TLSO), lumbosacral (LSO) and sacroiliac (SIO).īack braces are generally offered as soft/flexible and rigid. Control is defined as spinal extension, lateral bending, rotation and flexion. The terminology involved with spinal bracing generally classifies the segment of the body that needs the control. Back braces limit motion by compressing the abdomen, unloading vertebrae, discs and other structures of the spine. The practice of spinal bracing helps to stabilize injured or weak structures, typically providing three-point force systems to prevent progression of deformity, or to correct these issues. Limiting the spine’s motion encourages quicker and more efficacious healing after surgery or injury, often reducing pain and discomfort for the patient. ![]()

Dead space extraction1/17/2024 ![]() ![]() In Dead Space (mobile), the song can be heard during the beginning cutscene if one listens closely. It can best be heard by standing on or near the elevator platform. This complex is very large, rating two separate tram stations and numerous sub-divisions. Summary: Built from the ground up and developed exclusively for the Wii, Dead Space Extraction is a prequel that reveals the events leading up to Isaac Clarke’s mission on the USG Ishimura in the original Dead Space game released in 2008. The Medical Deck of the USG Ishimura is a large complex located amidships towards the dorsal surface. It also appears on the Bridge of the USG Ishimura, in the room with the escape pods outside the Captain's Nest two voices can be heard faintly singing it. Generally favorable reviews based on 108 Ratings. In the first chapter of Dead Space 2, the ghostly hallucination of Nicole Brennan sings the song quietly while Isaac is in an elevator, before ending by shouting "Make us whole". By coupling strong storytelling with a deep understanding of the traditional rail shooter's key elements, Visceral has managed. Kuttner himself can be heard singing along when he hallucinates being with her when he dies after she tricks him into sucking himself (alongside several marines) into space. Which is probably the best way to describe Dead Space: Extraction. In Aftermath, the melody is played often when Nickolas Kuttner's deceased daughter, Vivian Kuttner, can be seen, and at least once can be heard singing along to it. He at first thinks Lexine Murdoch is singing the song, but since she cannot be affected by the Red Marker, it is assumed that Nathan was experiencing a hallucination at the time. In Extraction, the song can be heard near the end of the game while Nathan McNeill is climbing through the vents. In Downfall, after Alissa Vincent's death, the song is heard as her lifeless body floats into the darkness of space. The song can be fully heard at the beginning of Chapter 10 while Isaac investigates the Crew's Quarters Lounge, where the song will be in a loop. Dead Space Extraction tells the story of a handful of space colonists desperately struggling to escape from a horrific infection on the Aegis VII mining. Next time is in Chapter 6 while Isaac Clarke rides the elevator up to the West Grow Chamber. Dead Space Extraction marries the innovative motion controls of the Wii Remote with a frenetic first person perspective to create a new action-packed horror. ![]() In Dead Space, the song can first be heard if the game is not started immediately after game boot-up when the Lullaby trailer starts playing. ![]() Would be a blast to see them remade as third-person shooters, in the high production standards as Dead Space (2023).The song first appeared in the "Lullaby" trailer for Dead Space. Spotify wrapped 2021 funny1/17/2024 ![]() ![]() What out-of-touch executive wrote these jokes? Great - but what are those of us who don’t know how to read aura colors supposed to do with that blob of color? Give us our top songs and move on.Ģ. “You’ll get two colors and the first one will be who you are, and the second one is what you reach for,” she explained. As for the auras, Nylon reported that they were made in collaboration with a “celebrity aura reader and medium,” Mystic Michaela, and are based on the mood tags that come with songs uploaded to Spotify. But what does all that even mean? Past the fact that “the song playing as you face off against your rival dance crew” is a totally ambiguous category, the songs also aren’t guaranteed to be in your top five, or 100, for that matter (one of this writer’s wasn’t!). This year’s new features include the three songs that would comprise “the movie soundtrack” of your 2021 and the moods and image of your “audio aura” for your year. But every year, the streaming platform adds new bells and whistles: more data points to pore over, more to share or complain about on social media, and more slides to click through to actually get to those top songs and artists. And what’s an “audio aura”?Įvery year, the top songs and artists are what Spotify users are hungry for. What does “your year as a movie soundtrack” mean? 3b. ![]() Come on, Spotify: Throw old-fashioned listeners a bone!ģa. Still, if you’re an albums listener who uses Spotify, it can be a bit silly to see your top five dominated by songs off a single album, and then not see what other albums you had in heavy rotation this year. Spotify isn’t an albums-oriented platform, as proven by the fact that the app just got rid of its auto-shuffle for albums - and only at the insistence of Adele, one of the biggest artists in music. I guess graphic design was the passion of whoever headed up this part of the project. And puzzlingly, but thankfully, it’s only on the genres slide. Let’s start with something we can all agree on: What do the genres at the bottom of our top-five list even say? No matter that they are barely recognizable as real genres (more on that later), the progressively more condensed text at the bottom of the slide makes some genre names nearly impossible to read. ![]()

There is also support for external debuggers, a full-screen zen mode and it is configured with JSON files (more on configuration in the next paragraphs). There is a good set of available extensions that you can install with a click, it is relatively fast and it provides everything you may need for working with version control in your repositories. If I have to write code or text for small projects, I use the amazing kakoune editor, if I'm working on big projects where advanced code linting, autocompletion and IDE features are needed Visual Studio Code is my editor of choice. The flatpak install is also quite bulky (1.8 GB since it includes a full LaTeX compiler distribution). Another downside is that when you first level up from discovering LaTeX, and begin to take lecture notes in the editor, the default keyboard shortcuts are not friendly for sped up typing. The themes are not so great looking and the PDF viewer has some noteworthy bugs. This also makes it hard to sync TeXStudio settings across different machines. ini file, making it quite annoying to configure if not from the graphical interface. The first one is that it is configured in a single. Flatpak-ed applications also have their own advantages and downsides, but I will not focus on discussing them this time. I've installed TeXStudio from flatpak, the package already contains a LaTeX distribution to compile your documents, which is not included if you install TeXStudio manually on your system. What you have is also a nicely documented set of menus and buttons, that help you format and insert symbols, graphics, figures, environments into your documents. There are configurable shortcuts for almost everything, from inserting environments to handling tables and files. The UX is fine, what you have is an almost WYSIWYG editor written in C++ using the Qt GUI toolkit. It is a great TeX writing environment if it is your first time approaching LaTeX. TeXStudio is a cross-platform open-source LaTeX editor and IDE. In less than half an hour I had the knowledge to write not perfect, but at least readable lecture notes in a basic Mathematics course. This is how I've got introduced to the world of writing LaTeX. He began to show me how he writes notes, slides and papers using TeXStudio, and he showed me some tips and tricks to write preludes for projects that make use of a lot of mathematical notation. Berarducci, always eager to answer his students' questions, noticed that I was making a mess by mixing up markdown and LaTeX. I was in my discrete maths and linear algebra Professor's office to ask some questions related to the courses. I kept taking notes in markdown for a couple of months while thinking that LaTeX was somehow complicated and esoteric, until one day. At first, I've started using MathJax, a cross-browser JavaScript library used to display mathematical notation in browsers I didn't know anything about the TeX world yet, except that it was the standard for writing books and scientific papers. ![]() I first stumbled into LaTeX as a first year computer science student, I was taking lecture notes in markdown and I wanted to include mathematical notation in them. If you have any questions you can query the huge database of answered questions at Tex Stack Exchange If you want to learn more, you can head over to the excellent WikiBook. In this article I will not cover the basics of LaTeX. It is a textual markup language for producing digitally distributed files, ready to be printed. LaTeX is the most used document preparation system in the academia world, derived from the TeX typesetting system, first written by the Legendary Donald Knuth. ![]()

Hidden deep developer1/17/2024 ![]() At the very least, give the demo a shot.Ĭlick to shrink.Rhythm Doctor is great, and my friend has been enjoying it on his deck. This game is the definition of a hidden gem for me. Its anime-inflected young girl main character could turn some people off understandably, but the game isn't skeevy thankfully. Enemies have only two frames of animation but manage to have personality, and attacks feel great thanks to very good effects. Its visual presentation is very nice too, packing a lot of charm with small production values. ![]() It even has dynamic boss themes that grow in intensity based on phase! The tracks may be short but I never grew tired of them through many hours of gameplay. Like damn, check out all the interplay here, the joyous energy here, the incredible heroism and intensity here (this is probably my favorite track not just for its excellence on its own but how amazing a recontextualization of the game's main theme it is!). The composers here have real chops, and pushed this much further than they might have for a relatively small scale project. It also has a small, but truly fantastic soundtrack, with themes that are both catchy and shockingly sweeping. It doesn't have the sheer depth or breadth of Slay the Spire, nor its basically peerless level of balance (this game gives you different versions of the same archetype to play as rather than multiple totally different playstyles, and some are clearly better/easier to play than others), but the core concept works so well, and has some very cool additional ideas - give the crowd lots of action and get rewarded with bigger payouts and items and weapons thrown into the arena for you to use on the fly there's a handedness system where combat cards are color coded to be used by the weapon in either the left or right hand which you need to consider, and you can swap around your weapons mid-fight bash your enemies against the edge of the arena or into each other to stun them, but be careful that the same doesn't happen to you. ![]() Two great tastes that really do taste great together. Saw it in this thread or the main Steam Sale one (thanks to whoever mentioned it!), tried its generous demo and was hooked.Īs its Steam page openly states, it's a fusion of Slay the Spire and Into the Breach, a turn-based roguelike deckbuilder with simple but very engaging positioning heavy tactics on a hexagonal grid field. The shadow DOM spec has made it so that you are allowed to actually manipulate the shadow DOM of your own custom elements.Giving a big recommendation to Alina of the Arena. All you see in the DOM is the element, but it contains a series of buttons and other controls inside its shadow DOM. Think for example of a element, with the default browser controls exposed. Note that the shadow DOM is not a new thing by any means - browsers have used it for a long time to encapsulate the inner structure of an element. The difference is that none of the code inside a shadow DOM can affect anything outside it, allowing for handy encapsulation. You can affect the nodes in the shadow DOM in exactly the same way as non-shadow nodes - for example appending children or setting attributes, styling individual nodes using, or adding style to the entire shadow DOM tree inside a element. Shadow root: The root node of the shadow tree.Shadow boundary: the place where the shadow DOM ends, and the regular DOM begins.Shadow tree: The DOM tree inside the shadow DOM.Shadow host: The regular DOM node that the shadow DOM is attached to. ![]() There are some bits of shadow DOM terminology to be aware of: Shadow DOM allows hidden DOM trees to be attached to elements in the regular DOM tree - this shadow DOM tree starts with a shadow root, underneath which you can attach any element, in the same way as the normal DOM. This fragment produces the following DOM structure: ![]()
